A major bank is seeking Senior SQL Database Engineer with AI experience to join its established technology team and play a key role in managing, optimising and modernising a large-scale, business-critical SQL Server environment.

Responsibilities
- Engineer, administer and optimise a large-scale SQL Server environment across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Drive the adoption of AI and machine learning capabilities within database operations to improve monitoring, predictive analytics, incident detection and automated remediation.
- Leverage AI-powered tools and intelligent automation to identify performance trends, predict potential issues and improve database serviceability.
- Use data analytics and trending to support capacity planning, performance optimisation, cost management and operational risk reduction.
- Manage SQL Server performance, availability, scalability and resilience across complex enterprise environments.
- Design, implement and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering.
- Develop and optimise T-SQL scripts, stored procedures and automation using PowerShell and other relevant technologies.
- Support database integration, reporting and analytics technologies, including SSIS, SSAS and Power BI Report Server (PBIRS).
- Extensive experience in SQL Server database engineering, administration and performance tuning within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Applying AI and machine learning to database monitoring, performance optimisation and predictive analytics.
- Exploring AIOps capabilities and integrating AI-powered tooling into enterprise database management environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later.
- Deep technical knowledge of SQL Server architecture, indexing, query optimisation, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience implementing automation, monitoring and analytics solutions to improve database operations.
