Senior SQL Developer / Data Engineer

We're looking for a highly skilled SQL Developer to join a high-impact financial services project supporting multiple business units across South Africa and Africa.

This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale, business-critical programme involving complex accounting, procurement, and pre-payment approval processes across multiple systems. The project requires an experienced SQL specialist who can quickly understand complex business logic, analyse existing solutions, and build scalable, high-performing SQL solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and maintain complex SQL solutions and stored procedures.
• Analyse and interpret detailed business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Review and understand existing SQL code and business logic.
• Rebuild, optimise, and stabilise SQL components where required.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Support the acceleration of a large, business-critical programme operating under tight delivery timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as a SQL Developer.
• Microsoft Fabrics Certificate (non-negotiable).
• Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL development skills.
• Extensive experience developing and optimising complex stored procedures.
• Strong understanding of relational database design and performance tuning.
• Experience analysing existing code and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
