Senior SQL Server DBA
We're hiring a Senior SQL Server DBA to own reliability, performance, and recoverability of business-critical database environments — production stability is the top priority.
What you'll do:
- Own operation, performance, and recoverability of SQL Server environments
- Maintain backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures
- Diagnose performance issues: query tuning, indexing, locking, blocking
- Review schema changes and migrations with engineering before deployment
- Lead root cause analysis for database-related incidents
What you'll need:
- 5+ years as a DBA or database engineer in production environments
- Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL Server expertise
- Performance tuning, execution plans, and capacity planning skills
- HA/DR experience: AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication, log shipping
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or Git-based workflows
Nice to have:
- Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, or AWS RDS for SQL Server
- SSIS, Airflow, dbt, or Azure Data Factory
- Power BI / reporting database support
- Monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, SQL Sentry
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or Elasticsearch familiarity
