Senior SRE Engineer, AI/ML & Substrate Platform

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior SRE Engineer to support large-scale data, telemetry, and ADF / ML pipelines within the Substrate environment. This role combines Site Reliability Engineering and production operations, with a strong focus on incident management, pipeline reliability, observability, and automation.

The engineer will serve as the onsite technical interface with engineering teams and coordinate execution with offshore SRE engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own reliability and operational health of production data, telemetry, and AI/ML/ADF pipelines.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline failures, latency, data freshness, processing errors, and service dependencies.
• Lead production incident/ICM investigation, RCA, and corrective engineering actions.
• Automate repetitive operational and troubleshooting activities using Python, SQL/KQL,PowerShell, or Bash.
• Support deployment readiness, production validation, and post-deployment monitoring.
• Partner with engineering teams during critical production investigations.
• Identify recurring reliability issues and drive permanent engineering fixes and toil reduction.
• Coordinate technical execution with offshore SRE engineers and communicate risks, blockers, and production health to engineering stakeholders.
• Improve dashboards, alerts, telemetry, and production diagnostics.
• Support pipeline deployments, production validation, and reliability improvements.

Required Skills

• 6+ years in SRE, Service Engineering, Production Engineering, or MLOps.
• Hands-on production support experience with data and/or ADF/Azure pipelines.
• Strong SQL and/or KQL production data troubleshooting skills.
• Strong scripting/automation skills.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed data-processing systems.
• Experience with observability, telemetry, incident management, and RCA.
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Azure experience.
• Kusto/KQL, Azure Data Explorer.
• Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, Synapse, Spark, ADF or comparable AI/data platforms.
• Azure DevOps/Git and CI/CD.
• Experience with telemetry and data-processing workloads.
