Senior / Staff Engineer - Firmware Automation (SSD)
Summary
Develop and maintain automation frameworks for SSD firmware development, validation, and release at Micron in Singapore, using Python, Linux, CI/CD pipelines, databases, and data visualization tools.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automation frameworks that support SSD firmware development, validation, qualification, and release activities.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration systems, and engineering productivity platforms to improve development efficiency and software quality.
Analyze engineering data and develop data collection, aggregation, reporting, and visualization solutions that support firmware quality monitoring and failure analysis.
Collaborate with firmware, validation, quality, and infrastructure teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver scalable automation solutions.
Investigate automation, tooling, and infrastructure issues using structured root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled engineering tools, knowledge management solutions, and software development practices to improve productivity.
Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers within assigned areas of responsibility.
Contribute to automation architecture discussions, technical documentation, and long-term engineering workflow improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
B.Sc. or higher in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
Over 3 years’ relevant experience in software development, automation engineering, firmware tooling.
Technical Skills
Strong Python software development skills with experience building automation frameworks and engineering applications.
Strong Linux administration, scripting, debugging, and troubleshooting capabilities.
Experience with databases, SQL, and data processing solutions supporting engineering workflows.
Experience with Git-based source control workflows, CI/CD systems, and software development best practices.
Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis and resolve complex automation and infrastructure issues.

Preferred Skills
Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, RESTful APIs, and build or release automation.

SSD firmware development, firmware validation, storage technologies (NAND Flash, NVMe, PCIe, SATA, SAS), or firmware automation experience.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, large language models (LLMs), agent-based workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI-powered knowledge management systems.
