Senior/Staff Product Designer

Summary

Clera is seeking a Senior/Staff Product Designer to build AI-powered procurement software for industrial companies. The role involves designing interaction patterns for agentic AI, creating prototypes, and collaborating with engineering to ensure a seamless user experience.

About the Role

This is a Senior/Staff Product Designer role on a small, tight-knit design team building AI-powered procurement software for industrial companies. You'll define how agentic AI capabilities surface for non-technical procurement professionals — making automation feel natural, trustworthy, and genuinely useful. Good design here has a direct, measurable impact on whether customers adopt powerful features and realize real cost savings.

What You'll Do

  • Define how agentic capabilities present throughout the product, from communicating that the AI is working to surfacing what it found.

  • Design interaction patterns where AI and human judgment work in concert rather than conflict.

  • Produce short-horizon (3–6 month) vision work as prototypes and tangible artifacts to guide the team.

  • Raise product craft and coherence as engineering velocity and feature output increase.

  • Work directly in code for last-mile polish — checking out PRs and tweaking interactions before shipping.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to translate complex procurement workflows into usable experiences.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years as a senior or staff product designer with a shipped portfolio in B2B SaaS, complex workflows, or data-heavy products.

  • Well-rounded capabilities spanning visual design, interaction design, product thinking, and code-based prototyping — generalist depth rather than a single specialty.

  • Practical experience prototyping beyond static mockups; able to build runnable prototypes that communicate intent and behavior.

  • Thoughtful, principled opinions about how AI should appear in products, with an emphasis on trust, transparency, and appropriate automation.

  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and inventing new patterns for novel problems.

  • Regular hands-on use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) as part of your design, research, and prototyping workflow.

  • Bonus: experience designing for non-technical users in complex B2B domains, or prior work with agentic or autonomous AI features.
