Senior / Staff Product Designer
Summary
Senior/Staff Product Designer at clera designing AI-powered procurement software for industrial companies in Munich, focusing on interaction patterns for agentic AI, prototyping beyond Figma, and last-mile code polish.
About the Role
This is a Senior/Staff Product Designer role on a small, tight-knit design team building AI-powered procurement software for industrial companies. You'll define how agentic AI capabilities surface for non-technical procurement professionals — making automation feel trustworthy, transparent, and genuinely useful. Clear, reliable design is what determines whether powerful AI features actually get adopted and deliver real value.
What You'll Do
Define interaction patterns for agentic AI — from "the agent is working" to "here's what it found."
Design experiences where AI and human judgment collaborate naturally, not compete.
Produce short-horizon vision work (3–6 months) as prototypes and tangible artifacts to guide the team.
Raise product craft and coherence as engineering velocity and feature output increase.
Work directly in code for last-mile polish — checking out PRs and tweaking interactions before shipping.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to translate procurement complexity into usable experiences.
What We're Looking For
5–10+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of shipped work, ideally in B2B SaaS, complex workflows, or data-heavy products.
Broad capabilities across visual design, interaction design, product thinking, and prototyping — a generalist "block shape" rather than a single-specialty T-shape.
Ability to prototype beyond Figma — building runnable prototypes that communicate intent and real behavior.
Comfortable working directly in code for last-mile polish (e.g., checking out PRs, tweaking interactions).
Thoughtful, considered opinions on how AI should appear in products — with a focus on trust, transparency, and appropriate automation.
At ease with ambiguity and capable of inventing new patterns for novel problems.
Regular user of AI tools (e.g., generative AI assistants, AI-powered coding tools) as part of your research, ideation, and prototyping workflow.
Bonus: experience designing for non-technical users in complex B2B domains, or prior work with agentic or autonomous AI features.
