Position Summary

The Senior Staff Software Engineer will provide technical leadership in designing and evolving large-scale, distributed systems and platform architectures across multiple teams and organizational domains. This role will drive long-term technical strategy, architectural modernization, AI-enabled engineering practices, and platform capabilities while improving system reliability, scalability, developer productivity, and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of large-scale, distributed systems and platform architectures to ensure long-term scalability, reliability, and extensibility.
  • Define and guide technical strategy and architecture across multiple teams, aligning engineering priorities with business objectives and product goals.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development practices and AI-enabled capabilities to improve engineering effectiveness, product innovation, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple systems and domains while driving technical alignment and successful execution.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate systemic technical risks while advancing system reliability, observability, performance, and operational maturity.
  • Define and drive strategies for reducing technical debt, modernizing legacy systems, and improving platform architecture across the organization.
  • Develop and promote shared platform capabilities, services, tooling, and engineering practices that improve developer productivity and system consistency.
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers, influence technical direction, and promote a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality system design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated experience driving technical strategy and architecture across multiple teams or organizational domains.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and evolving large-scale distributed systems, platform architectures, and cloud-based production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud-native architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex and ambiguous environments, influence technical stakeholders, and drive alignment and execution across teams without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with .NET full-stack and API development across frontend and backend technologies, with proficiency in Rust, C#, and/or JavaScript.
  • Extensive experience with distributed systems, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Bicep.
  • Deep expertise in observability, monitoring, distributed tracing, incident response, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with modern authentication and authorization technologies, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML, as well as secure coding and security architecture practices.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, progressive deployment strategies, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and the architectural considerations involved in designing systems at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience driving engineering productivity, platform improvements, technical modernization, and AI adoption across multiple teams or organizational domains.
