Senior Staff Software Engineer Mobile Core Messaging
Summary
Build a cross-platform mobile messaging SDK and AI-native chat features for OKX’s crypto platform, optimizing real-time WebSocket delivery, offline push, and performance under weak networks.
You will build a unified multi-platform instant messaging SDK, platformize the messaging engine for community chat and payments, and develop user-to-agent chat experiences. You will own real-time WebSocket delivery and offline push across multiple vendor channels, optimize latency and resource usage under weak-network conditions, build AI-native workflows, review designs and code, and mentor engineers.
Responsibilities
- Build a unified multi-platform instant messaging SDK
- Platformize the messaging engine for product teams
- Build user-to-agent conversational AI chat
- Own WebSocket delivery and offline push across regional vendor channels
- Optimize latency, reliability, battery, and memory performance
- Build automated AI-native development workflows
- Conduct design and code reviews
- Mentor engineers
- Set technical direction for the messaging platform at Staff level
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience building native iOS and/or Android applications
- Experience with cross-platform or shared business-logic layers
- Fluency in Swift, Kotlin, Rust, Objective-C, Java, or JavaScript
- Architecture experience with large-scale mobile applications
- Depth in a messaging stack, including chat features or real-time networking
- Experience with WebSocket, long connections, offline push, APNs, FCM, or China vendor push
- Strong mobile performance experience with memory, battery, concurrency, and weak networks
- Experience building AI workflows and pipelines
- Experience with instant messaging products or SDKs is advantageous
