Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager
Do you want to make real social impact, empowering communities and leading stakeholder engagement for offshore wind parks?
We offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and strategic Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to take a leading role in supporting Vattenfall’s UK offshore wind portfolio – with a focus on our Ramsgate based cluster.
In our Business Unit Offshore Wind, we develop, build and operate offshore wind farms across several markets in Northern Europe. With our work, we contribute directly to a sustainable energy transition. Within the Stakeholder Engagement team, we collaborate across disciplines and countries to build lasting relationships with local communities, schools, municipalities, associations and businesses – because the energy transition must benefit everyone.
That’s why we’re now looking for a Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join our international team of Stakeholder Engagement Managers – and bring fresh energy and local impact to our UK offshore wind parks.
What will you do?
As our new Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager – UK, you’ll step into a varied and meaningful role, where your work truly matters. You'll be the key point of contact for our communities, ensuring a consistent, two-way dialogue across our operational assets. Whether you're at a school, a local fair or meeting local politicians, your efforts help build lasting relationships and create real local benefits.
You’ll drive the development and execution of engagement and communication strategies – working with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure our projects not only succeed technically, but socially too. You'll also help maintain and energize established collaborations at our sites, bringing renewed focus and creativity to existing initiatives.
Since the sites have been successfully operational for years already, networks and collaborations are established. In the near future, the Ramsgate based sites will require extension of and/or changes to the existing permits and licenses to continue operations. This will require close alignment, consultation and adequate information exchange with relevant stakeholders in the community. Your work will guide our projects to continue to be visible, valuable and valued part of the local landscape.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and coordinate the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Strategy for Vattenfalls Ramsgate based offshore wind sites
- Take the lead on the overall design & coordination of the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications Strategy for the entire UK based portfolio (spinning assets in Barrow-in-Furness and Aberdeen).
- Be the main point of contact for local communities and stakeholders in Ramsgate – from school groups to community associations, from local business owners to residents.
- Organize and attend Ramsgate community engagement activities, like site visits, school talks, and local events – building visibility, trust, and mutual understanding.
- Closely collaborate and align with the management & team on site, the colleagues in Consenting and the Regional Support team.
- Champion internal participation in external engagement – acting as a culture guardian and helping to set up team building around social impact.
- Bring real experience and inspiring stories from the sites to collaborate and align with regional and international communications, media, PRA and Stakeholder Engagement colleagues.
- Help maintain ongoing relationships and community programmes, including benefit funds, communication campaigns, and education initiatives.
Who are you?
You're a person with a mission. You believe in building genuine relationships and making a social difference, not just ticking boxes. You're ready to bring your enthusiasm, insight, and coordination skills to one of the most impactful stakeholder engagement roles in the energy transition.
As our Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will bring:
- A strategic, coordinating mindset and the ability to energize and lead complex engagement initiatives.
- Strong interpersonal skills – you're an active listener, a thoughtful communicator, and skilled at building trust and rapport with diverse groups.
- A passion for local impact, education, and social value – you want to be the person communities remember when they think of Vattenfall.
Next to this, you bring:
- A degree in Communications, Psychology, Community or International Development, or a related field.
- Solid experience with stakeholder engagement in major infrastructure or sustainability projects.
- A background in designing and delivering communications and outreach strategies.
- A flair for public speaking and clear writing, with strong digital and content creation skills.
- A collaborative attitude – you love sparring with colleagues, sharing ideas, and lifting each other up.
