Senior Supervisor, Network Optimization And Performance Application
Purpose of the job
Design, develop, integrate, deploy, and test network optimization and performance applications and services to satisfy the needs of the converged transport network, processes, data, and services. Combine both deep study of business processes and the requirements of network optimization and performance improvement to design and integrate the best solution/application that serves converged transport network functions.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure quality, accuracy, and usability of network optimization and performance tools and ensure they fulfill the department's needs and requirements.
Interface with vendors in designing, developing, and integrating network optimization and performance tools, services, and applications.
Develop logic, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes for the integration of new network optimization and performance systems/applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
Conduct research and provide recommendations on new technologies related to the software life cycle.
Cooperate with vendors to deploy northbound and southbound application programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate network optimization and performance applications with each other and with other systems.
Provide technical recommendations to management to ensure smooth integration and operation for the optimization and performance management systems.
Evaluate options, analyze complex technical problems, and deliver solutions where precedent may not exist.
Test, debug, document, and implement software application components and services using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
Identify performance bottlenecks and debug known issues.
Provide support for integration solutions between newly purchased network optimization and performance tools and the existing fixed/mobile network management applications.
Job specification
Education
Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
Experience
Minimum 4 years of work experience, 2 of which in a relevant role.
Skills and abilities
- Possess knowledge, skills, training, and practical experience in Microsoft Windows software engineering environments.
- Solid object-oriented programming and design experience.
- Knowledge of data analysis and database architecting.
- Knowledge of networking technologies: IP network architecture, protocols, and telecom network infrastructure is a big plus.
- Network programming / SNMP knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on different projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to leverage relationships across other business units and with external sources.
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail is essential.
- Volunteers readily and undertakes self-development activities.
- Ability to respond to urgent situations appropriately by prioritization.
