Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, Assembly, XR (English, Mandarin)

As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Assembly) based in Taiwan, you will own the supplier quality management for Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and Module Integrators (MIs) responsible for complex opto-mechanical assembly processes—including but not limited to lens barrel assembly, active optical alignment, die attach, wire bonding, encapsulation, and final Light Engine Assembly (LEA)/Display Sub-Assembly (DSA) integration. You will partner with Supplier Development Engineering (SDE), Manufacturing Quality (MQE), and external assembly partners to establish exceptional assembly process quality control, audit manufacturing lines, and drive zero-defect initiatives.

• Own supplier assembly lines quality governance and performance for module assembly partners (CM/MI), driving quality system compliance, line audits, support supplier qualification, SPOR downselection and NPI build readiness reviews (EVT/DVT/PVT).
• Establish and audit assembly line Quality Control Plans (IQC/IPQC/OQC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), data pipeline, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) across all module assembly processes.
• Lead supplier line excursion containment and rigorous 8D/CAPA investigations for assembly-induced optical, mechanical, and electrical defects.
• Review, validate, and approve supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs), manufacturing deviation requests, and sub-tier supplier changes to prevent quality spillover.
• Collaborate with Supplier Development Engineers (SDE), manufacturing and Product Quality on line qualification, process capability verification (Cp/Cpk), and assembly yield/quality continuous improvement.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality management, or advanced manufacturing, with a focus on precision electro-mechanical or optoelectronic module assembly.
• Experience managing Contract Manufacturers (CMs)/Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) in Asia, on-site factory audits, and quality control plans and PFMEAs.
• Experience in 8D root cause analysis and corrective actions for assembly defect modes.
• Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
• Ability to travel domestically and regionally as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8 years of experience in high-precision assembly line quality for camera modules, compact display engines, optical transceivers, or wearable devices.
• Expertise in data analysis with tools like JMP or Minitab, and quality processes like SPC, MSA/GR&R, process capability analysis, DOE, and structured problem solving (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt).
• Technical mastery of opto-mechanical assembly processes: multi-axis active optical alignment (AA), automated optical inspection (AOI), glue dispensing/curing, die bonding, and wire bonding.
