Keep the systems behind every council service running
Every service the City of Launceston delivers sits on top of a core application. When one of those applications stops behaving, the work stops with it. This is the role that keeps that from happening.
As Senior Support Analyst in our Digital Futures team, you’ll take service requests from across the organisation, triage them, and see them through to resolution. You’ll manage user access and security permissions, run releases and acceptance testing, and escalate to vendors when you need to.
The support work is only half of it. You’ll also make the systems better, through SQL scripting, reporting and data visualisation, integrations and business process automation. If you like knowing that the thing you fixed or built is being used by people doing real work for a real community, this is that kind of job.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Recording, triaging, prioritising and resolving service requests accurately and in line with agreed service levels
Providing technical support by web, phone, walk-up and onsite, and escalating complex issues to vendors
Managing user access, security roles and permissions in line with policy, including regular audits
Overseeing releases and maintenance activities, including issue replication, testing and release validation
Implementing system improvements through design, configuration and testing
Developing SQL scripts, reports, analytics and data visualisations, along with ETLs and other integrations
Configuring business process automations and helping evaluate emerging technologies
Establishing and maintaining accurate technical documentation across all areas of responsibility
About You
We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of Our Values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:
A relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry specific experience, with a qualification in Information Technology or a similar discipline an advantage
Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced technical support role, self-managing the incident lifecycle from identification through to resolution
A sound knowledge of relational database principles with strong SQL and database skills, programming basics, and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex systems
Working knowledge of Power Automate, Power BI and integration platforms (ETL, API)
A logical approach to problem solving, with the ability to develop, recommend and implement solutions in both technical and business process contexts
Strong written and verbal communication, including experience supporting non-technical users in a professional setting
The ability to work collaboratively within your team and across other teams
Experience supporting core applications in a local government environment, and knowledge of the TechnologyOne solution, would be well regarded
