• Attend vessels for survey/audits,around all brazilian ports
• Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management
• Work on-site surveys during dry-docking and in service
• Work on major vessel conversions, alterations or any technical matters involving all type of vessels
• Support other class activities when necessary
• Maintain the confidentiality of Clients' business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times
• When applicable, to supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out as above and in an efficient and economic manner
• Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization
• Exhibit customer oriented focus through promoting DNV, acting as technical support for customers and ensuring solutions provided take customer needs into consideration
Position:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering with previous experience in Maritime Engineering or Master Mariner
• Experience at Classification Society or at least 5 years of experience in the Marine sector
• ISM/ISPS/MLC auditor formal qualification is an advantage (preferably)
• Understanding of class & statutory survey work and responsibilities.
• Registration at Brazilian Engineering Council (CREA) is mandatory
• Portuguese and English Speaking/Writing proficiency is mandatory
• Strong customer service orientation and understanding of client needs
• Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job such as Working at Heights and in Confined Spaces
• Hold a valid driver's license
• Availability to work outside normal working hours, if the job requires (weekend, holiday and late hours week days)
• Be open to internal transfers (national and international)
