Summary
Senior System Administrator delivering remote, client-focused IT support to ITIL/ITSM standards: administering Windows Server/AD, Hyper-V/Azure/VMware virtualisation, Cisco/FortiGate networking, Intune/Jamf MDM, Zabbix monitoring, Veeam backups and email security, plus PowerShell and AI-assisted automation.
Role & responsibilities
- Provide client-focused support via service desk, and phone; log and manage incidents to ITIL/ITSM standards - Administer Windows Server 2022/2025 (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SSO, RDS), virtualisation Hyper V / Azure or VMware experience is a MUST. Networking experience and understanding of subnetting required (Cisco, Meraki, Cisco AnyConnect, FortiGate, Duo MFA) - Manage monitoring tools (Zabbix/N-Central), email security (VIPRE/Mimecast), Veeam backups, - Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, including Microsoft Intune, Jamf pro for device enrolment, configuration, and security - Use scripting and AI tools (including Claude) to improve efficiency, automate tasks, and support troubleshooting and documentation - Support cybersecurity practices (ISO 27001 / Cyber Essentials), patching, change control and documentation
Preferred candidate profile
sential - Experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or Senior 3rd Line Engineer - Strong skills in Windows Server, virtualisation, Azure, Active Directory, networking, and firewall administration (Cisco or FortiGate preferred) - Hands-on MDM experience (ideally Microsoft Intune) - ITIL/ITSM knowledge, strong customer service, and clear communication skills in ENGLISH - Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar), M365/Google migration experience, RMM automation, relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, FortiGate)
