The Senior Systems Analyst will join the Application & Integration Services Section, playing a crucial role within the Office of Information Technology and reporting directly to the Information Technology Manager. The incumbent will take a leading role in developing, integrating and supporting AI-enabled applications and automation solutions across different areas in the University, while also contributing to application development and system integration in support of our digital transformation towards an AI-enabled community.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, integrate and support AI-enabled applications and automation solutions to enhance University operations and services;
- Apply AI-assisted development practices to enhance software delivery, coding, testing, documentation and system modernisation;
- Integrate AI platforms/tools, application APIs and internal/external systems to automate processes, improve service efficiency and support business needs;
- Develop, enhance and support web and mobile applications as a secondary focus, including solutions built with React, React Native, Node.js, Java, PHP, Python and related technologies;
- Participate in the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance support;
- Assist team lead to prepare system specifications, technical documentation, security/governance notes and user guides;
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI, agentic, cloud and application technologies to meet evolving business needs;
- Collaborate with other IT teams, vendors, system implementers and user departments; and
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly and provide support for any IT projects as required.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering, or a related discipline;
- At least 6 years of post-qualification experience in application development;
- At least 3 years of experience in AI-related application development, solution implementation, system integration, automation or related areas;
- Strong hands-on experience in AI-enabled application development, automation and system integration;
- Experience in:
- Developing or integrating AI-enabled applications, automation solutions or intelligent services to address practical business needs;
- Using AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation and productivity improvement;
- Developing applications with technologies such as React, Node.js, PHP, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.;
- Web application development and system integration; mobile application development (iOS/Android) would be an advantage;
- Database management and operations with tools such as MSSQL and NoSQL DB;
- Agile development, CI/CD and DevOps practices;
- Cloud platforms or cloud services would be an advantage;
- Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM WebSphere Server or Apache is optional and would be an advantage; and
- Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus;
- Eagerness to learn and develop AI/ML, agentic application and emerging technology skills;
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with the team; and
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
