Mackay Regional Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Systems Analyst to support and enhance Council's corporate applications, drive digital innovation, and deliver solutions that improve business processes and community outcomes.

About The Opportunity
Reporting within the Information Services team, the Senior Systems Analyst plays a critical role in identifying business needs and delivering practical, scalable technology solutions that support organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include
Leading the analysis, design, development and implementation of business solutions and corporate applications. Supporting AI, automation and analytics initiatives that deliver measurable business value. Building and enhancing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure and modern development practices. Engaging with stakeholders across Council to understand business challenges and identify improvement opportunities. Translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. Managing application upgrades, enhancements, integrations and system improvements. Supporting the administration and optimisation of corporate applications and associated environments. Coordinating with software vendors and project stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. Developing business requirements, process maps, testing documentation and user guidance materials. Contributing to ongoing service improvement, governance and best-practice solution delivery.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
Extensive experience as a Senior Systems Analyst, Business Analyst or similar role supporting enterprise applications and digital solutions. Proven experience delivering end-to-end digital solutions from requirements gathering through to implementation and support. Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, process mapping and solution design. Experience designing and supporting cloud-based solutions, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments. Sound knowledge of application lifecycle management, systems integration and business process improvement principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and sustainable solutions. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills. Experience working with software vendors and multidisciplinary project teams. Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong customer focus.
