Senior Systems Engineer / MSP Technical Lead
Salary: $125,000–$145,000 plus super
About the role
Macarthur Managed IT is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer / MSP Technical Lead to become a key technical and operational member of our growing team.
This is a senior, hands-on position for someone with strong technical aptitude who is ready to take ownership of complex incidents, projects and technical service delivery. You will work across Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, Windows Server, networking, cybersecurity and automation, acting as a senior escalation point for our team and clients.
You will work directly with the business owner to improve service delivery, develop technical standards, mentor other team members and help coordinate the day-to-day technical operations of the MSP.
This opportunity may suit an experienced MSP engineer who lives in the Macarthur region and wants to avoid commuting into Sydney. We are also open to a capable corporate IT engineer who wants to broaden their experience by moving into the varied and fast-moving MSP environment.
The successful candidate will initially work from our Narellan office during onboarding and probation. Once established, the position will transition primarily to working from home, with occasional attendance at the Narellan office and client sites.
Candidates living in the Macarthur region or within practical travelling distance of Narellan are preferred.

About you
You are a capable technical generalist who enjoys understanding how systems work and solving problems that do not always have an obvious answer.
You take ownership of outcomes, communicate clearly and remain methodical during difficult incidents. You are comfortable working independently, but you also document and share your knowledge so that the entire team benefits.
Your exact number of years in the industry is less important than the level at which you can operate. We value demonstrated capability, sound judgement, initiative, personal responsibility and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
You may already work in an MSP, or you may have developed broad infrastructure experience within a corporate IT department and be ready for greater variety and responsibility.
