We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer - Network to join our team in Tauranga.
About the Role
This is a full-time permanent position working largely across our Enterprise customers. This position provides technical network expertise to design, implement, support and advise customers on network and security solutions.
What you'll do for us
Design, implement and support enterprise network solutions.
Provide technical leadership across network and security projects.
Perform network fault analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Act as the interface between vendors and customers for infrastructure and network support issues.
Implement new or enhanced network, connectivity and security solutions.
Utilise monitoring platforms to measure, investigate and improve network performance.
Perform network assessments, health checks and capacity planning activities.
Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including as-built documentation.
Contribute to solution design, technical standards and best practice development.
Ensure all relevant documentation is reviewed and maintained.
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to other engineers.
Ensure accurate and timely logging of activity, project time and customer updates.
Travel to customer sites as required.
What you'll bring in your Kit bag
Two major certifications such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, Check Point, Aruba or equivalent qualifications.
One or more network vendor certifications.
Technical leadership and involvement in medium to large-scale network projects.
Proven experience in network solution design and implementation.
Strong customer engagement, consulting and technical leadership skills.
A sound understanding of connectivity across distributed enterprise environments.
Proficiency across the following areas:
Enterprise Networking (LAN, WAN and Wireless)
Routing and Switching Technologies
Network Architecture and Design
Perimeter Security Technologies
Firewalls and Secure Access Solutions
Network Segmentation and Security Controls
VPN and Remote Access Technologies
Network Monitoring and Management Platforms
Network Performance, Optimisation and Capacity Planning
Network Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
Authentication and Access Control Technologies
Infrastructure Documentation and Technical Standards
PowerShell Scripting and Operational Automation
Experience with enterprise vendor technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Aruba or equivalent.
The ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and implementation plans.
Confidence to engage with our customers and talk them through the benefits of the solutions you are recommending.
