Senior Systems Engineer

Growing MSP based in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong focus on O365. The role will be 2 days from home and 3 from the office and requires someone who has experience working across Level 3 BAU and Projects.

The role
You will split your time between BAU support and project delivery. You’ll be the go-to technical lead for O365 and Intune, driving stable operations, automation, and successful migrations/implementations across clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead BAU support for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD) and Intune endpoint management.

• Design, implement and optimise Intune device and application management policies (Windows, iOS, Android, macOS).

• Deliver M365/Intune projects: migrations, new tenancy setups, device lifecycle, conditional access and Zero Trust controls.

• Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.

• Create runbooks, automation (PowerShell/Graph), monitoring and reporting to improve operational efficiency.

• Lead technical workshops, stakeholder engagement and handovers to BAU.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical governance and best-practice guidance.

• Maintain security/compliance posture: Conditional Access, MFA

Required skills & experience

• 5+ years’ experience in systems engineering or senior support roles.

• Deep hands on experience with Microsoft 365 suite and Intune (device compliance, app deployment, configuration profiles, autopilot).

• Strong Azure AD knowledge (conditional access, identity protection, hybrid identity).

• Networking

• Firewalls

• Proven experience delivering M365/Intune projects and migrations.

• PowerShell scripting and familiarity with Microsoft Graph API or automation tooling.

• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

• Strong stakeholder, client-facing and mentoring experience.
