At Safran, we recognise that aviation needs to innovate and change in order to protect our environment. We believe that future aircraft power systems will be hybrid-electric or full-electric, which is why we are working to develop and deliver advanced electrical solutions to help decarbonise flight.
The team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, control systems and electric motors for aircraft propulsion.
If you want to help deliver this future, we are looking for enthusiastic and creative people to join our team. The role can be - Inside IR35 Contractor or fixed term employment for 12m with a potential for it to be permanent after this period.
Based at the Centre of Excellence in Pitstone you will work within the Systems Engineering team to lead the development of advanced aircraft electrical power generation, distribution and propulsion systems. Responsible for the full systems engineering lifecycle, you will define, develop, integrate and support innovative electrical systems from concept through to certification and in-service support. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will provide technical leadership, manage customer and stakeholder requirements, oversee system integration and verification activities, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards and certification requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technologies while engaging closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams to deliver complex safety-critical systems.
• Lead systems engineering work packages, ensuring delivery to schedule, budget, quality and applicable standards.
• Define and manage system requirements, working closely with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop system architectures, perform performance analysis, trade studies and support system integration.
• Oversee subsystem development and ensure effective requirements flow-down and implementation.
• Lead verification, validation and compliance activities throughout the system lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership, acting as the primary customer interface for system development and performance decisions.
