What you will be doing\:

In this role, you will join the Avionic Joint Front-End Team (FET), supporting the engineering lifecycle for the Eurofighter Typhoon. You will act as a key interface for customer requirements capture and early-stage systems engineering activity, ensuring technical coherence across avionics design teams.

You’ll work closely with human-machine interface specialists and wider engineering stakeholders to define requirements, assess system constraints, and develop coherent design concepts.

Core duties\:

  • Lead requirements capture activities with customers and key stakeholders
  • Coordinate safety assessments, identifying potential hazards and system concerns
  • Conduct business case assessments, including scope definition, change impact analysis, and solution evaluation
  • Perform feasibility studies on design recommendations in collaboration with SMEs and engineering teams
  • Produce, manage, and maintain technical documentation in line with security, export control, and configuration management standards
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of requirements across multidisciplinary avionics design teams

Essential Skills\:

  • STEM degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong systems engineering background, ideally within aerospace or defence environments
  • Proven experience in requirements capture, analysis, and management on design front-end
  • Ability to produce structured, formal engineering and project documentation
  • Understanding of configuration control and engineering governance processes
  • Ability to work within defined standards, processes, and regulatory constraints
  • Awareness of safety considerations and technical risk assessment in engineering systems

The Avionic Joint Front-End Team\:

Working at the front end of the engineering lifecycle, you’ll help shape early design decisions on a mature and complex defence platform. The Front End Team plays a critical role in translating customer needs into structured engineering requirements and ensuring alignment across multiple specialist disciplines. This is a highly collaborative environment where systems thinking, technical judgement, and stakeholder engagement are essential.
