The Senior Systems Engineer is a highly proactive, hands-on role responsible for managing and maintaining IT and systems administration. As a strong generalist with a deep specialisation in storage, you will manage a complex, heavily on-premises environment utilising a mix of products to support the data-heavy creative pipelines.
Your responsibilities:
You will support and evaluate the current infrastructure and drive initiatives to modernise, streamline and simplify the storage and systems landscape.
- Storage & Data Management (SAN, NAS, fibre switching, cloud storage, etc)
- Core Infrastructure & Support
- Security & Compliance
- Collaboration & Ownership
- 5+ years in a Systems Engineering/Administration role
- Enterprise Storage
- Expertise with SAN/NAS high-capacity clusters, Fibre Channel switching, and SMB/NFS shares for cross-platform workflows
- Experience with archiving/restoration technologies
- Systems Administration - able to manage both Windows and Linux server environments
- Networking & Security - provision core and access switches, manage VLANs, subnets and network protocols, and administer firewalls and VPN
- Virtualisation - deploy and manage public cloud and on-premises virtualisation technologies
- Ability to script and automate administrative processes and troubleshoot production pipeline issues using languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell
