Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist
Summary
100% onsite contract role in Toronto supporting Ontario government ministry applications: the senior QA specialist plans and executes functional, integration, performance, and UAT testing and performs AODA accessibility audits. Core stack: Azure DevOps, Micro Focus ALM 12.5, Microsoft Azure Cloud, AXE/WAVE accessibility tools, plus SQL, DB2, Oracle, and mainframe testing.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Plan, organize, and implement testing efforts for large-scale and complex systems.
- Conduct functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, performance, load, stress, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Work closely with Testing Leads, IT Leads, developers, business analysts, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
- Identify, document, track, and support the resolution of defects, issues, and testing risks.
- Support testing activities throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Perform AODA accessibility compliance audits and remediation testing.
- Utilize accessibility testing tools including AXE and WAVE.
- Create and manage test artifacts using enterprise test management and version control tools.
- Develop test data for technical and business functional validation.
- Support and participate in UAT activities.
- Execute systems integration and specialized testing across GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and testing standards.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and automated test suites where applicable.

- 10+ years of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.

- Strong knowledge of QA principles, practices, methodologies, and structured testing processes.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience creating test data for various phases of testing.
- Experience planning and organizing testing activities for both large and small systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.
- Extensive experience with Micro Focus ALM 12.5.
