Role Overview
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to lead and support comprehensive testing activities across complex enterprise applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and executing testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and automated testing solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across Waterfall, Agile, and DevOps environments, along with expertise in Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies, Azure DevOps, Micro Focus ALM 12.5, AODA accessibility compliance, and accessibility testing tools including AXE and WAVE.
This role requires hands-on experience testing complex Ministry applications and integrations involving APIs, web services, databases, mainframe systems, payment gateways, and enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Plan, organize, and implement testing efforts for large-scale and complex systems.
  • Conduct functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, performance, load, stress, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with Testing Leads, IT Leads, developers, business analysts, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify, document, track, and support the resolution of defects, issues, and testing risks.
  • Support testing activities throughout all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Perform AODA accessibility compliance audits and remediation testing.
  • Utilize accessibility testing tools including AXE and WAVE.
  • Create and manage test artifacts using enterprise test management and version control tools.
  • Develop test data for technical and business functional validation.
  • Support and participate in UAT activities.
  • Execute systems integration and specialized testing across GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and testing standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and automated test suites where applicable.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
Testing & QA Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
  • Extensive experience creating, reviewing, and executing:
    • Test Strategies
    • Test Plans
    • Test Cases
    • Test Scripts
  • Strong experience with functional, non-functional, integration, system, regression, load, and performance testing.
  • Experience supporting and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving testing issues and defects.
  • Strong knowledge of QA principles, practices, methodologies, and structured testing processes.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience creating test data for various phases of testing.
  • Experience planning and organizing testing activities for both large and small systems.
Test Management & DevOps Tools
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Extensive experience with Micro Focus ALM 12.5.
  • Experience using test management tools and version control systems.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
Methodologies
  • Strong experience with Waterfall methodology.
  • Strong experience with Agile methodology.
  • Strong experience with DevOps methodology and practices.
Cloud Technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud technology.
Accessibility / AODA – Mandatory
  • Extensive experience conducting AODA Compliance Audits and Remediation.
  • Strong understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements and related accessibility standards.
  • Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools, including AXE and WAVE.

Candidate Screening – Key Mandatory Requirements

Preferred Domain/Technical Experience
Candidates with experience in Ontario Government or Ministry applications, particularly Siebel/RLSO, ESDI, LCS, legacy mainframe systems, MPG/EPS payment services, ReadyAPI, APIs, DB2, Oracle, SQL, UNIX, Java, and .NET, will be highly preferred.
