Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist
Summary
Senior QA/systems testing contract for Ontario public-sector healthcare (Oct 2026–Oct 2027, 100% onsite in Toronto), testing iPHIS, OHISS, TIS and Inspections Tools. Core tech: Selenium automation, API/HL7-FHIR web service testing (Postman, SOAP UI), SQL data validation, WCAG/AODA accessibility, BI testing, Jira/TestRail defect management.
- Perform functional and non-functional system testing of iPHIS, OHISS, TIS and Inspections Tools, including program requirements, application integrations, enhancements and defect resolutions.
- Provide ongoing testing support for routine and incident management activities involving public health units and program areas.
- Develop complete testing documentation and artifacts, including test strategies, test plans, test cases/use cases, test scripts, automated test scripts, test results reports and defect logs.
- Translate functional, business and system knowledge into effective test planning and execution.
- Create test data according to established test plans.
- Analyze test results, perform retesting and confirm expected outcomes.
- Participate in walkthroughs and reviews with users and ensure client acceptance criteria are met.
- Recommend changes where testing results do not meet required standards.
- Retest implementation criteria in live/production environments and recommend user sign-off.
- Work closely with developers, architects, product owners and other stakeholders to establish effective test plans based on feature and requirements documentation.
- Provide QA and technical expertise to identify, track and resolve testing, production and IT-related issues.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and oversight to junior testers and coordinate testing activities across multiple work streams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with federal, provincial or broader public-sector healthcare providers.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture artifacts, processes and practices, with the ability to produce technical documentation aligned with industry standards.
- In-depth knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) and public-sector I&IT project management methodologies.
- Knowledge and experience working on public-sector health-related projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ministry policies and IT project approval processes and requirements.

- CRJMC security clearance is required.
- 7+ years of senior QA/systems testing experience is required.
- 5+ years of public-sector healthcare experience is required.
- SQL/data-query experience is a specific MUST HAVE.
