Position Summary

We’re currently looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our team in Nashville, TN.

This role will be responsible for supporting the company's tax and financial reporting activities through the preparation, analysis, and documentation of tax accounting information to reduce risk of material misstatement within the financial statements. This role will assist with income tax provisions, tax reporting, tax research, internal controls, and process documentation while partnering with Tax, Finance, and Accounting teams to support accurate financial reporting and compliance. The role will also assist with continuous improvement of tax function through evaluation and implementation of technology, AI, and automation.

*** This role is a HYBRID position in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday @ Bridgestone HQ in Nashville, TN. ***

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly and quarterly tax accounting close and financial reporting activities by preparing current and deferred income tax provisions, reconciling tax general ledger accounts, analyzing effective tax rate drivers and provision-to-return differences, assessing valuation allowance assertions, foreign subsidiary investments, and uncertain tax positions, preparing income tax financial statement disclosures, and performing tax accounting analyses related to significant transactions, accounting developments, and legislative changes impacting the tax provision.

  • Identify and support implementation of technology, automation, AI, and process improvement opportunities within the tax function. Recommend process enhancements and documentation improvements to increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and reduce risk.

  • Assist compliance with SOX regulations, internal controls, and tax policies by supporting the documentation and maintenance of tax policies, technical positions, processes, and control frameworks.

  • Conduct tax research related to federal, state, and international tax law developments and summarize findings and recommendations for management.

  • Prepare income tax calculations for forecasting and budgeting to support finance initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience

  • BA / BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar

  • CPA, CMI, CAE or international equivalent a plus

  • MST or MBA a plus

  • Tax provision experience a plus
