Note

Candidates must hold an active CPA license and have substantial recent public accounting tax experience, including reviewing individual, S corporation, and partnership returns. This position requires regular in-person client meetings and the ability to work from our Zanesville office.

Job Description

• Manage an established portfolio of individual and business tax clients, becoming their trusted advisor.
• Gradually assume responsibility for longstanding client relationships through a supported transition.
• Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, and 1065.
• Lead tax planning discussions and identify opportunities to help clients improve their financial outcomes.
• Oversee tax engagements from planning through filing, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion.
• Research complex tax issues and develop practical, client-focused solutions.
• Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff while providing constructive review feedback.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes, manage workflows, and strengthen client service.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
• Experience independently reviewing individual, S corporation, and partnership tax returns.
• Experience managing client relationships and overseeing tax engagements.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation, tax compliance, and technical research.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with clients and colleagues.
• Experience mentoring staff, providing tax advisory services, or using ProConnect is a plus.
