Build relationships. Lead engagements. Shape a growing transfer pricing practice.
Aprio is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to play a pivotal role in our growing Transfer Pricing practice. This highly visible, client-facing position is ideal for a seasoned transfer pricing professional who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence, client advisory, and team leadership.
You'll lead complex transfer pricing engagements from strategy through delivery, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and help shape solutions across a broad range of industries. Beyond the technical work, you'll build strong client relationships, mentor developing professionals, and act as a key thought partner to practice leadership. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, influence the direction of engagements, and help scale a dynamic and growing practice.
What You'll Do
- Lead transfer pricing engagements from planning through final delivery across a diverse client and industry portfolio.
- Develop and guide the transfer pricing approach based on each client’s facts, intercompany transactions, operational structure, and business objectives.
- Prepare and review transfer pricing studies, documentation, local files, master files, and related technical deliverables.
- Review benchmarking and economic analyses, including comparable data sets and arm’s-length ranges.
- Analyze intercompany transactions involving areas such as royalties, services, management fees, and transfers between related entities.
- Apply strong knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing regulations while incorporating relevant OECD transfer pricing guidelines.
- Lead client calls, explain technical concepts clearly, identify missing information, and manage financial and operational information requests.
- Respond to technical client questions and help clients navigate complex transfer pricing considerations.
- Direct project teams, assign work, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance and meaningful feedback to senior associates.
- Perform higher-level and final-quality reviews to ensure deliverables are accurate, technically sound, timely, and ready for client delivery.
- Manage multiple engagements, priorities, deadlines, budgets, workflow, billing, and overall project execution.
- Collaborate with partners and practice leaders on engagement strategy, technical decisions, client opportunities, and the continued growth of the transfer pricing function.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 10 or more years of progressive transfer pricing experience within public accounting, professional services, consulting, or a comparable environment.
- Demonstrated experience independently leading U.S. transfer pricing engagements and owning projects through final delivery.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. transfer pricing regulations and familiarity with OECD transfer pricing guidelines.
- Experience preparing and reviewing transfer pricing documentation, studies, benchmarking analyses, local files, and/or master files.
- Ability to assess complex client fact patterns, ask thoughtful questions, and determine the financial, operational, and technical information required.
- Experience leading project teams and providing direction, review, coaching, and technical support to developing professionals.
- Strong client communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, practical manner.
- A proactive and highly organized approach to client follow-up, project tracking, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent engagements while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Broad industry exposure and the ability to adapt transfer pricing knowledge to different business models and transactions.
