Senior Technical Consultant
Summary
Computer Culture, a Christchurch-based MSP, is hiring a Senior Technical Consultant to advise clients on technology strategy and lead design and delivery across Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint management, security, networking and hybrid infrastructure, while mentoring engineers and staying hands-on.
Salary: Excellent salary $, + company car & insurances
As a Senior Technical Consultant at Computer Culture, you'll see the whole picture. You'll be someone who can sit down with a client, understand where their technology is today and where their business needs to go, then turn that into a practical technical direction, architecture and roadmap.
You'll be one of the people our clients and engineers turn to when the answer isn't obvious. If you love strategy but still enjoy rolling your sleeves up, then this role is for you. This isn't an architecture role where you hand a design to somebody else and walk away. You'll remain close to the technology, working alongside the team to design solutions, validate approaches, solve problems and deliver great outcomes for our clients.
The sort of work you'll be doing
Working with clients to understand their business, technology environment and future needs, then turning these into practical technology strategies, roadmaps and solutions
Leading the design and implementation of solutions across Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint management, security, networking and hybrid infrastructure
Providing technical leadership to our clients and engineering team through complex technical decisions, solution design and escalations
Developing products, solutions and repeatable approaches that strengthen what we can offer across our wider client base
Shaping technical standards and best practice while mentoring engineers and lifting capability across the team
Remaining hands-on with delivery, working alongside the wider team to get the right outcomes for our clients
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with 10+ years' experience supporting, designing, and implementing solutions who has:
Genuine hands-on technical breadth across Microsoft cloud and modern workplace technologies, infrastructure, identity, security and networking.
The ability to dig into the detail to solve difficult technical problems, while also having the judgement to step back, see how the pieces fit together and determine the right approach.
Experience across both legacy and modern technologies. You'll know how to move client environments forward in practical ways.
The ability to connect technical change to real business value, whether that's improving security, reliability, manageability, productivity or enabling something the business wants to achieve.
You'll understand that good technology decisions start with understanding the business. You'll take the time to understand how our clients operate, what matters to them and what they're trying to achieve, then turn that into practical advice and solutions.
You'll genuinely care about the people you work with. You'll communicate clearly, listen to different perspectives and work alongside clients and engineers to make good decisions and get things done.
Ideally, you'll have experience within an MSP or another environment supporting and consulting across multiple clients. You'll be comfortable moving between different businesses, environments and technologies, adapting your approach to what each client needs.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone our clients and engineers will trust with the difficult technical questions.
A little about us
Computer Culture is a Christchurch-based MSP, proudly partnering with Canterbury businesses across the region and beyond. We're big enough to know what we're doing, but small enough to really care.
We believe good technology starts with understanding the people and businesses we work with. We take the time to understand what our clients need, explain technology in straightforward terms and find the right solutions for their business, rather than just selling what's easiest.
We've been around for nearly 20 years and still have clients that have been with us from day one - a reflection of our people-first approach to how we do business and how we do tech.
We're a close-knit, director-led team that cares about our people, works together and is always looking for a better way. We have an active staff social club and run fun team events through the year such as a chilli growing competition and the City 2 Surf fun run. You'll also benefit from the company's Canterbury Tech membership.
If this sounds like a place you'd like to be, please apply as we'd love to get to know you more.
