Senior Technical Information Specialist
This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), El Paso Intelligence Division, El Paso, Texas. The purpose of this position is to provide intelligence and support to all Federal, State, Local, and tribal law enforcement through the EPIC Watch, the National License Plate Reader Program, the National Seizure System, and Operation Fountainhead.
As a Senior Technical Information Specialist your typical work assignments may include: Monitors work operations to ensure adherence to policies and procedures relating to the disclosure of law enforcement sensitive information. Balances and adjusts priorities, and participates in the preparation of schedules for completion of work. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work products. Recommends performance standards and completes evaluations. Organizes and coordinates assignments that involve complex and novel or obscure problems and/or special requirements. Coordinates and leads activities which require a high degree of independent judgement and the timely evaluation of extensive volumes of data. Serves as technical expert with regard to intelligence collection databases, first-phase analysis, and dissemination. Participates in the development of programs to support both tactical and operational intelligence needs. Assesses new development and makes recommendations for changes in terms of improving capabilities for real-time Watch responses and improvement of the various General Watch functions.
