Job Description

Fortune Consultancy is hiring on behalf of our client, a leading defence and aerospace electronics company (Radars, EW, Avionics, Missile Seekers, Space Payloads, ATE) supplying DRDO, the Indian Armed Forces and international markets.

We are looking for a Technical Lead / Senior Technical Lead to drive the design, development, integration and deployment of mission-critical radar application software. You will lead a software team building radar control consoles, target tracking engines and multi-sensor fusion applications across airborne, naval and ground-based radar platforms (SAR, ISAR, GMTI, Air Defence and Doppler Weather Radars).

Role & Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Development

• Architect, design and implement real-time radar application software using C++, Qt, C# on Linux/Windows
• Develop radar control consoles, PPI displays, target tracking, range-Doppler mapping and telemetry streams
• Implement modules for imaging algorithms (SAR, ISAR, GMTI) and real-time sensor data fusion
• Design network communication layers over UDP/TCP, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, CAN and Serial

Team Leadership & Project Ownership

• Lead and mentor a team of 510 software engineers: code reviews, sprint planning, architecture discussions
• Translate System Requirement Specifications (SyRS) into modular software designs and work packages
• Work closely with FPGA, Hardware, RF/Microwave and Systems teams to deliver unified radar sub-systems

Integration, Qualification & Customer Trials

• Drive hardware-software integration, bench testing and HWIL testing
• Prepare PDD, SRS and Software Verification Plans as per military/aerospace standards (DO-178C / IEEE)
• Support FAT, field trials (JFT/SAT) and customer acceptance with DRDO, Defence PSUs and Armed Forces

Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, ECE, EEE or equivalent
• 812 years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership role
• Strong in C++ (modern C++), Qt/QML, C#/.NET and object-oriented design patterns
• Proven experience in radar systems software, radar console GUI/HMI, GIS mapping or real-time spatial displays
• Solid understanding of multi-threading, socket programming and memory optimisation in Linux/RTOS
• Experience interfacing software with DSP/FPGA boards, data acquisition systems or radar receiver/exciter hardware

Preferred:

• Radar signal processing exposure (Doppler filtering, CFAR, Kalman filter, track-while-scan)
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-178B/C
• Exposure to Airborne Radars, Ground Air Defence Radars, Doppler Weather Radars or Missile Seeker processing
