Senior Product Owner
Summary
Owns the technical backlog and integrations for a SaaS platform, writing API specs, validating vendor data flows, and running sprint ceremonies to deliver SSO and data-export features.
About the Role
The Senior Technical Product Owner plays a vital role on our Product team. In this role, you will carry the full Product Owner charter, product operations, backlog ownership, roadmap scheduling, product expertise, and the knowledge base, and adds deeper technical ownership of vendor integrations and technology partnerships. The role is responsible for the platform products, integration capabilities, the single sign-on experience, and the shared services that support the Activated Insights platform, and responsibilities may evolve as business priorities change.
Operating as the technical liaison between partner organizations, customer-facing teams, and Engineering, the Senior Technical Product Owner reads API specifications directly, runs partner and vendor technical calls without an Engineering translator, authors the integration contract that defines what the platform accepts from each partner, and validates credentials, access, and data flow personally before any integration is reported ready. The commercial side of partner relationships remains with the Partnerships team; this role owns the technical side from kickoff onward
What You’ll Do
Product Operations and Escalation Management
-
Triage escalations from Customer Operations for assigned products and live integrations: reproduce, isolate, and determine break/fix versus configuration versus enhancement.
-
Analyze issues across application, database, and integration pipeline layers; provide technical context for Engineering escalations and track them to resolution.
-
Monitor recurring issue patterns and systemic risks; convert them into backlog items, runbooks, or clear business and technical requirements.
Backlog Ownership and Sprint Execution
-
Own and maintain the backlog for assigned products, including integration pipeline automation, the single sign-on backlog, and data export and data access API capabilities.
-
Run sprint planning, scrums, grooming, and review ceremonies with the Engineering squads serving assigned products.
-
Validate delivered increments against acceptance criteria; run UAT and coordinate release mechanics.
-
Keep roadmap and status data accurate in the systems of record, including epic status and OKR check-ins for assigned products.
Enhancement PRDs and Roadmap Scheduling
-
Author enhancement PRDs and integration requirements for Director approval; size and sequence work with Engineering.
-
Schedule approved work into the roadmap; communicate slips early with cause and revised dates.
Vendor Integrations and Technology Partnerships
-
Participate in and run discovery and technical calls with integration partners, technology vendors, and customers with specific integration requirements.
-
Read and evaluate partner API specifications; identify data mapping, authentication, change detection, and volume considerations before commitments are made.
-
Author the per-partner integration contract defining the canonical data the platform accepts, the boundary of platform responsibility, and the validation criteria for go-live.
-
Test credentials, sandbox access, and end-to-end data flow personally; no integration is reported ready on the basis of received but unvalidated access.
-
Drive the integration platform automation backlog that reduces manual provisioning effort over time.
Product Expertise and Knowledge Base
-
Develop deep expertise in assigned products and integrations; author and maintain knowledge base articles, integration runbooks, and operational playbooks.
-
Answer integration and platform questions from Sales, Marketing, and Customer Operations, including security questionnaire and pre-sales technical support.
-
Provide limited sales engineering assistance on qualified opportunities for deals meeting the size threshold set by Product leadership.
Release Quality and GTM Handoff
-
Produce release notes and internal release communication for assigned products.
-
Hand completed releases to the Director, Product Market Management for the GTM phase.
