Senior Technical Program Manager, Amazon Now
You will own the programs that turn a single business stack into versioned API contracts, a federated front end, and surface agnostic shopping capabilities that any Amazon business can configure into a journey of its own shape. Each tenant brings different needs, and your job is to sequence that work so businesses compose journeys instead of forking the platform.
This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of deep technical programs and many stakeholder coordination, who can hold a three year architectural direction while shipping quarter over quarter, and who cares that a page is ready in sub-second at Amazon volume.
Key job responsibilities
- Own cross team programs that deliver certified, versioned API contracts and a bring your own API extension path, so new businesses onboard by configuration rather than by forking the stack.
- Drive the front end federation program (shell, component registry, tenant packages, build time isolation) across feature teams shipping independently to production.
- Coordinate onboarding of new tenants and marketplaces, cutting time to launch from three months toward weeks, and track the platform effort each onboarding costs.
- Run the performance, resilience, and observability programs that keep every journey fast and tenant isolated at scale, including interaction budgets, alarm based rollback, and prevention of cross tenant incidents.
- Build the mechanisms that govern what earns a place in the shared core versus what stays a business owned extension, resolving competing tenant needs across 12+ clients.
- Manage dependencies with partner platforms and drive convergence decisions.
- Establish program rhythm across 500+ developers: roadmaps, release schedules, risk and critical path management, and quarterly checkpoints against annual targets.
- Translate a three year platform vision into sequenced, committed deliverables with clear exit criteria.
A day in the life
You start with the programs in flight across the platform, unblocking a tenant onboarding here and a contract certification there. You work with multiple senior and principal engineers on architecture tradeoffs, with product managers on which capabilities graduate into the core, and with partner teams on shared dependencies. You keep the performance and resilience bars visible, chase down a latency regression before it crosses tenants, and prep the quarterly checkpoint against annual targets. Your stakeholders span multiple leaders from fast growing businesses WW, and your customers are the Amazon teams building shopping experience using our platform.
About the team
We currently run the customer experience platform behind Amazon's quick commerce businesses. What began as one team's customer journey stack has grown into a single platform serving multiple marketplaces at roughly 700K orders a day. We are a B2B product whose customers are Amazon businesses, and our mission is to let any of them launch, experiment, and scale a shopping journey without building the stack beneath it. Multiple Amazon businesses came to us organically because the paradigm works. We are now one architectural shape away from becoming the default place a new shopping journey starts at Amazon, and this role helps get us there.
