Senior Technical Project Manager (Cloud and Compliance)

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex cloud, cybersecurity, and compliance-focused technical engagements from initiation through successful delivery. You will serve as a trusted partner to clients and internal delivery teams, ensuring projects remain aligned across scope, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and technical requirements. The position combines strategic project leadership with hands-on coordination across cloud engineering, security, operations, architecture, and compliance functions. You will help clients navigate evolving security requirements while delivering high-quality technical outcomes. Success will require strong risk management, executive communication, and the ability to operate confidently in complex, multi-workstream environments. You will also contribute to improving delivery processes through automation, technology, and standardized best practices.
Accountabilities
- Lead complex technical projects across the full lifecycle, managing scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, dependencies, risks, issues, communications, and delivery performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and engagement teams, establishing strong relationships across multiple organizational levels, including occasional C-suite stakeholders.
- Coordinate cloud design, build, and managed operations activities across technical and operational workstreams.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously refine project schedules and work plans in response to changing client needs, technical requirements, and delivery priorities.
- Facilitate project status meetings covering schedules, dependencies, technical requirements, action items, assignments, risks, issues, and changes.
- Proactively identify high-risk clients, projects, dependencies, and technical delivery concerns, developing mitigation plans and escalating issues appropriately.
- Drive change management activities when project requirements, processes, technologies, or delivery conditions evolve.
- Coordinate resources and responsibilities across delivery leadership, quality management, sales, architects, engineers, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and issue resolution throughout the engagement lifecycle, maintaining accountability for project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Partner with leadership to improve project management procedures, reporting practices, forecasting, utilization, and delivery performance.
- Leverage automation, workflow technologies, and AI-enabled tools to improve project visibility, operational efficiency, and delivery workflows.
- Create and maintain project artifacts, training materials, best practices, and standardized procedures that promote consistent execution.
- Apply cybersecurity principles and knowledge of compliance frameworks to help guide client decisions and balance security requirements with business and technical objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments and translate relevant changes into actionable client recommendations.
- Act as a subject matter expert in technical project delivery across cloud design/build and managed operations engagements.
- Mentor and coach team members, helping strengthen technical delivery, project management, consulting, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 6+ years of experience in technical project or program management, with at least 5 years in external client-facing environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technical projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Professional services, consulting, or technology delivery experience, ideally involving cloud, cybersecurity, or technical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management practices, including scheduling, resource coordination, dependency management, risk mitigation, issue escalation, change management, and executive reporting.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and understanding of their core capabilities and services.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, CMMC, SOC, ISO, HIPAA, HITRUST, or PCI.
- Understanding of SecOps, SOC/NOC operations, vulnerability management, incident response, disaster recovery, and continuous monitoring.
- Experience with Hybrid, Agile, iterative, or similar delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive audiences.
- Ability to independently manage complex schedules, multiple dependencies, competing priorities, and multi-workstream initiatives.
- Experience using automation, workflow technologies, or AI-enabled tools to improve business and delivery processes.
- Strong understanding of change management principles and procedures.
- Ability to mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of technical and consulting capabilities across teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to client contractual requirements.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, CAPM, CSM, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSK, AWS Solutions Architect–Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, GIAC Public Cloud Security, CompTIA Security+, or CompTIA Cloud+.
- Additional experience with cloud networking technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASAv, VPC peering, or Transit Gateway is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Visio, Jira, Smartsheet, Tableau, or Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Knowledge of encryption technologies, including TLS/SSL, encryption, and PKI, is desirable.
- Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, PowerShell, Bash, and modern AI tools or platforms is beneficial.
