The center of alfanar’s industrial activities is alfanar Industrial Complex situated in the Third Industrial Zone on Al-Kharj Road, Riyadh.
Spread across 700,000 square meters, the complex houses alfanar’s facilities.
The complex has a comprehensive infrastructure including a data and communication center as well as a commercial zone.
Job purpose
Implement and maintain efficient and reliable communication systems that facilitate data exchange and integration between various devices and systems within the automation environment, ensuring smooth operation and control of the distribution and substation automation systems.
Key accountability areas
Network infrastructure:
Responsible for designing the telecommunication network infrastructure, including selecting the appropriate communication technologies, such as fiber optics, microwave, or radio, and specifying the necessary equipment and devices required for communication within the automation systems.
Communication protocols:
Selecting and implementing communication protocols and standards that ensure reliable and secure data transfer between different devices and systems within the distribution automation and substation automation environment.
Integration:
Ensuring seamless integration of telecommunication systems with other components of the distribution automation and substation automation systems. This includes integrating communication systems with control systems, monitoring devices, sensors, protection equipment, and other automation components.
Testing and troubleshooting:
Testing and verifying the performance and reliability of the telecommunication systems. Conduct tests, simulations, and performance evaluations to ensure that the communication networks and protocols meet the requirements of the automation systems. Additionally, troubleshoot any communication issues or failures and take appropriate actions to resolve them.
System upgrades:
Upgrading the telecommunication systems within the distribution automation and substation automation environment. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying areas for improvement, implementing upgrades to enhance communication capabilities, and ensuring the overall reliability of the communication infrastructure.
Documentation and reporting:
Maintaining detailed documentation of the telecommunication systems, including network diagrams, configuration settings, protocols used, and troubleshooting procedures. Prepare reports on system performance, issues, and recommendations for improvements.
Compliance and standards:
Ensuring that the telecommunication systems within distribution automation and substation automation projects comply with relevant standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. Stay updated with the latest standards and requirements to ensure that the communication systems meet the necessary compliance criteria.

Academic qualification
Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering
