Senior Test Automation Engineer (Java)

We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer (Java) to drive automation testing for a financial management platform currently under development. This is a great chance to help build an automation framework from scratch, as the project shifts from manual to automated testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop functional, integration, and acceptance test cases
  • Create automated test cases for regression, functional, and smoke testing
  • Organize and execute automation tasks while upholding testing standards across the team
  • Incorporate test cycles into the DevOps pipeline
  • Resolve system issues creatively and efficiently through effective troubleshooting
  • Build automation for backend services (REST APIs) and frontend
  • Record and report defects
  • Oversee test data and test environments
  • Handle version management of test scripts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, including at least 3+ years in test automation development or a mix of development and testing experience
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Background in REST and SOAP API testing, ideally with SOAPUI and Groovy scripting
  • Expertise in Selenium or comparable tools, together with Cucumber
  • Capability to build and maintain automation scripts that ensure information systems services and programs meet acceptance criteria
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
  • Skills in functional, integration, and regression testing, including authoring unit tests for robustness, edge cases, usability, and overall reliability
  • Knowledge of manual testing at a solid level
  • Competency in connecting test suites to CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, including client-facing experience
  • English proficiency at B2 level or above

Nice to have

  • Background in Financial Services and/or Wealth Management domains
  • Familiarity with Apache Maven as well as Gradle
  • Understanding of Mainframe systems
