About the Offer

We are currently looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join the team of our client from the banking industry. You will support the development and maintenance of automated tests for Master Data Management solutions, with a strong focus on SOAP and REST API testing, database testing, integration testing and automation of backend and data distribution processes. You will also help define and evolve the automation strategy, design scalable and maintainable test frameworks, and introduce AI-assisted solutions to increase test coverage and reduce manual effort. For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us.

Key Details:

• Rate: up to 125 PLN/h net (B2B)

• Work Model: hybrid, 3 days per week from the office, full-time (40 h/week)

• Location: Gdańsk, Gdynia or Warsaw

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing automated tests for APIs, integration processes and data flows

• Developing and maintaining existing test automation frameworks

• Creating regression tests and integrating them with CI/CD processes

• Supporting the implementation of an “Automation First” approach

• Cooperating with developers, analysts, Product Owners and other MDM ART teams

• Supporting automation of both new features and existing products

• Analysing test results and preparing test evidence

• Using AI and GitHub Copilot to improve test automation efficiency

• Mentoring less experienced team members in test automation

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in automated software testing, preferably in complex enterprise environments

• Strong understanding of QA methodology: test planning, design and execution, defect management, regression testing and continuous quality improvement

• Hands-on test automation development in Java 17+, with strong OOP knowledge, Clean Code principles and POJO-based design patterns

• Strong practical experience with RESTAssured, JUnit 5 and Lombok

• Solid understanding of REST architecture (resources, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON/XML payloads) and SOAP/WSDL contracts

• Hands-on API testing of REST and SOAP services, integration flows, backend services and data distribution processes

• Experience with Allure reporting, including request/response evidence and failure categorisation

• Good SQL skills and experience in database testing and data validation

• Experience testing integration solutions: asynchronous flows, Kafka-based integrations, data pipelines and event-driven architecture

• Practical experience with qTest and Jira

• Strong Git skills: branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based), pull requests, code reviews and conflict resolution

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins and/or Bamboo

• Good understanding of Agile ways of working and Scrum ceremonies

• Experience preparing test evidence, automation reporting and test coverage documentation

• Ability to mentor less experienced team members

• Proactive mindset and the ability to work in a cross-functional team

• Excellent communication skills in English

• Willingness to provide a criminal record certificate
