About the role:
We’re looking for a Senior Test Engineer to help deliver digital change with confidence and quality across SCTI’s systems, APIs and customer-facing platforms.
You’ll combine hands-on testing with a broader quality engineering focus, contributing ideas, strengthening practices and helping shape quality within our growing agile squad structure.
You’ll join a collaborative team where you can work independently, raise issues early and bring fresh thinking to continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver risk-based functional, integration, regression, system, data, API and release testing.
- Create clear test plans, cases, scripts, data, reports and release evidence.
- Identify, triage and retest defects with developers, vendors, technical business analysts and stakeholders.
- Contribute to test automation, CI/CD-aligned practices and sustainable quality improvements.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, defects and release readiness clearly.
- Share knowledge, lift testing capability and apply SCTI’s policies and compliance requirements.
About you:
You’re a well-rounded tester who enjoys solving problems, collaborating and considering quality from every angle. You can move confidently between manual, exploratory, API and automated testing, translating requirements into clear test scenarios.
You’ll bring curiosity, sound judgement and a practical improvement mindset. Experience with our exact systems is not essential, but you’ll need to apply your skills thoughtfully, communicate clearly and stay focused on customer outcomes.
- Proven experience testing digital products, web applications, APIs and customer-facing platforms.
- Strong test planning, defect management and release-readiness experience in agile or similar delivery environments.
- Practical experience with test automation and quality engineering, ideally using Playwright.
- Experience with API and performance testing tools such as Postman and JMeter, plus Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
- CI/CD and DevOps-aligned testing experience would be an advantage.
- Clear communication, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset and confidence to constructively challenge and build trusted relationships.
