Senior Test Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Test Engineer with 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering, automation testing, and enterprise application testing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Python-based test automation, scalable framework design, API and UI automation, and modern quality engineering practices.

Role & responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and maintainable Python-based test automation frameworks.
• Develop reusable automation components, utilities, test data frameworks, and regression suites following industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain UI automation using Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Develop and maintain API automation using Python Requests, Pytest, Postman, or similar tools.
• Review business requirements, technical specifications, user stories, and solution designs to define comprehensive test strategies and test scenarios.
• Identify quality risks, testability concerns, integration challenges, and areas requiring additional test coverage.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, negative, exploratory, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop automated test cases using Pytest, Unittest, Behave, or similar testing frameworks.
• Validate REST APIs, including HTTP methods, status codes, authentication, authorization, request/response payloads, headers, and error handling.
• Perform database validation using SQL and verify data integrity across application and backend systems.
• Test AI-powered features for functional accuracy, reliability, response consistency, edge cases, hallucinations, prompt variations, safety, privacy, and failure handling.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and application defects, perform root cause analysis, and recommend appropriate solutions or workarounds.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
• Produce and maintain quality metrics including test coverage, automation coverage, defect trends, execution status, and release readiness.
• Collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, Product, Architecture, and Project teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Support release validation, regression testing, production defect verification, and post-release quality activities.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Review automation code and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Mentor junior automation engineers and promote automation and quality engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks, test processes, execution efficiency, reporting, and overall engineering quality.
• Use AI tools to accelerate test case generation, automation development, test data creation, defect analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Critically review and validate AI-generated test cases, automation code, test data, and documentation before adoption.

Preferred candidate profile:

• 6+ years of experience in QA/Test Automation.
• Strong Python and automation framework development skills.
• Hands-on experience with Pytest, Playwright/Selenium, and API automation.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Git, and CI/CD.
• Exposure to AWS and Linux/Windows environments.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and enterprise applications.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, RCA, and communication skills.

Good to have:

• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust.
• Knowledge of SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (AWS).
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and frontend technologies.
• Experience testing enterprise SaaS applications.
• Knowledge of BDD/Behave, test reporting, and parallel/distributed testing.
• Experience with containerized test execution.
• Ability to lead automation initiatives and mentor junior engineers.
