Senior Test Engineer
Summary
Senior Test Engineer builds and scales WebdriverIO automation suites for web, mobile, and API in a healthcare remote-patient-monitoring company, embeds tests in CI/CD, and uses AI-assisted tooling to drive quality across distributed teams.
Senior Test Engineer needed to raise the quality bar across the products of a healthcare company that enables remote patient monitoring, clinical research, and personalized healthcare. You'll own the end-to-end test automation strategy for your product areas, build and scale reliable WebdriverIO suites across web, mobile, and API surfaces, and embed quality checks deep into CI/CD. You'll also bring AI-assisted testing into the team's day-to-day work, partner closely with engineers, product managers, and designers, and mentor junior QA engineers. This is a hands-on senior role for an automation specialist who operates independently in a fast-paced, distributed environment and drives consistent quality standards across teams.
What You'll Do:
Design, build, and maintain robust end-to-end test suites in WebdriverIO and JavaScript
Extend automation coverage across web, mobile, and API surfaces using complementary frameworks where appropriate
Apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate test authoring, triage flaky tests, and improve defect detection
Define and own functional, regression, integration, performance, API, and end-to-end test strategies for assigned products
Build and execute API test suites using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent
Partner with engineering on testability, observability, and shift-left practices
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure they run reliably on every change
Maintain Git-based workflows and code-review standards for test code
Mentor junior QA engineers and review their test designs and code
Document test strategies, results, and defects clearly for cross-functional, distributed teams
Drive consistent quality standards, metrics, and review practices across teams
What We're Looking For:
6+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience
Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript as the primary scripting language
Deep, hands-on expertise with WebdriverIO (WDIO) as the primary automation framework
Hands-on experience leveraging AI-powered testing tools and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, maintenance, and defect detection
Solid understanding of software testing methodologies across functional, regression, integration, performance, API, and end-to-end testing
Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Strong working knowledge of version control systems (Git)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
A proven ability to mentor junior engineers and drive quality standards across teams
Strong written and verbal communication in English — you can clearly document test strategies, results, and defects, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams
An ownership mindset and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, international environment
Nice to Have:
Working knowledge of Python or Java alongside JavaScript
Experience with additional automation frameworks such as Cypress, Appium, Playwright, or similar
Experience with performance and load testing tools (Locust, JMeter, k6, Gatling)
Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience testing AI/ML-based applications, including model output validation and prompt-based testing strategies
ISTQB or equivalent QA certification
Familiarity with security testing fundamentals, including common vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10), authentication/authorization testing, and secure API testing practices
Hands-on experience with web proxy and security testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Charles Proxy, or Fiddler for traffic inspection, request manipulation, and vulnerability discovery
