Senior Tester – Workflow Platform (AWS, BPMN/DMN)
Summary
Senior Tester joining a client's Scrum team digitising the Environmental Effects Statement process: testing user stories and bug fixes each sprint, API testing with Postman/Hoppscotch, SQL data validation, and investigating failures via AWS logs and Git. BPMN/DMN and workflow-platform (Camunda/Flowable/Pega) experience is a plus.

Senior Tester needed for our client's Environmental Effects Statement digitisation program.Our client is digitising the Environmental Effects Statement (EES) process, the assessment that major projects go through before approval. Today it's manual and paper-heavy. The new platform brings it online, combining digital forms with a workflow engine that routes and tracks each application from start to finish.
The role:
You'll join our client's Scrum team alongside a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Business Analysts and Developers, working in 2-week sprints.
What you'll do:
- Test user stories and bug fixes each sprint, logging results in Jira
- Perform API testing using Postman or Hoppscotch
- Write SQL to validate and update data
- Run weekly production checks following releases
- Investigate failures through AWS logs and give developers clear, actionable detail
- Use Git repositories (GitLab, GitHub or Bitbucket) to investigate issues.
- Take part in all Scrum ceremonies
Essential:
- Senior testing experience within agile Scrum teams
- Hands-on experience with Postman, SQL, AWS logs (CloudWatch or similar) and Git
- Experience testing modern web applications
- Confidence working independently and raising issues early.
- Experience with BPMN 2.0 and DMN, or testing on a workflow/BPM platform such as Camunda, Flowable or Pega
- Ability to read and interpret JSON configuration and templates
- Victorian Government experience
