Want to build automation from scratch on one of the biggest platform changes in Australian energy retail?Our client, a well-known Australian energy retailer, is moving its customer and billing platform from Gentrack to Kraken. They need a senior automation engineer to design and build the Tosca test automation that makes the move a success.
This is a hands-on build role. You’ll create new frameworks, not just keep old scripts running.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and building new test automation frameworks in Tricentis Tosca for the Kraken platform
- Maintaining, improving and running the existing Tosca framework and regression suites
- Setting automation standards: module design, reusable components, test case design and test data
- Building automation into CI/CD so regression runs reliably and unattended
- Working closely with delivery, QA and business teams throughout the migration
- Senior-level experience in test automation design and implementation
- Deep, hands-on Tricentis Tosca experience, ideally including designing a framework from the ground up
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
- The confidence to own the automation approach and explain it to stakeholders
- Tosca certification (AS1, AS2, AE1 or TDS)
- Playwright experience
- Utilities or energy retail experience, especially Kraken or Gentrack (nice to have, not essential)
- Other tools such as UFT or Selenium

- Start: as soon as possible, with a one-week handover
- Term: around 6 months, with a strong chance of extension and potential to go permanent
- Location: Melbourne, hybrid
- Rate: Competitive
