Senior UX Designer, Design System Lead, WWGST, Grocery and In-Store Experience (GRAISE)
As a Senior UX Designer and Design System Lead for WWGST GRAISE, you will spend the majority of your time doing hands-on CX design alongside the design teams building in-store experiences, and you will own the design system that keeps that work coherent, high-quality, and fast to ship. Design system leadership will take roughly 30–50% of your bandwidth; the balance is hands-on design.
Key job responsibilities
- Design end-to-end in-store customer experiences: define user interactions, information architecture, and visual language, and deliver the right artifacts — user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Dive deep on customer pain points and triangulate inputs (qualitative and quantitative data, user and stakeholder feedback, business and technical constraints) to inform and iterate design solutions, working creatively around difficult constraints to maintain a high customer-experience bar.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, engineers, design technologists, industrial designers, and store designers to give form to early ideas and bring them to the finish line.
- Partner with UX research to formulate generative and evaluative studies, and use the results to sharpen the experience.
- Act as the point person and evangelist for the system: refine and, where needed, define contribution and review models, lifecycle management, versioning, and scalability standards, and help drive adoption, enablement, and education.
- Hold the system-wide quality bar — cross-platform coherence, accessibility, and brand consistency — coaching teams to make educated tradeoffs between flexibility, coherency, usability, and efficiency.
- Support the AI transformation of the system: integrate AI into design-system tooling, adoption workflows, and the day-to-day designer experience to enable an accelerated and democratized product development cycle.
- Partner closely with engineering to bridge the gap between design intent and technical implementation, keeping both the experience and the system shipped and in parity with code.
- Actively mentor designers on system usage and craft, raising the design-system fluency of the org.
- Communicate complex design and system decisions clearly and persuasively — across different audiences and up through product, engineering, and design leadership.
