Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a Product Designer to lead the next chapter of AfterShip’s global onboarding and homepage experience across multiple product lines. This is a strategic, high-impact role—partnering directly with leadership, shaping our activation strategy, and establishing scalable design directions that influence multiple teams.

You will define frameworks, drive cross-org alignment, set quality standards, and mentor designers across Product & Creative tracks.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the vision, strategy, and system design for onboarding and homepage experience across the entire product ecosystem.

2. Define information architecture frameworks and multi-product onboarding flows that scale globally.

3. Drive discovery with PM, Research, and Data; translate ambiguous problems into clear design opportunities.

4. Partner with Engineering leadership to ensure feasibility, consistency, and long-term maintainability.

5. Establish quality principles, review mechanisms, and async-first collaboration models for the design org.

6. Mentor Senior and Mid-level designers; elevate team execution and craft.

7.Influence design system evolution and ensure cross-product experience consistency.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, or equivalent expertise.

2. 5+ years of experience in product/UX design for SaaS or large-scale platforms.

3. Demonstrated ability to own ambiguous, multi-stakeholder problems and turn them into coherent product strategy.

4. Strong systems thinking, information architecture, and design reasoning skills.

5. Proven experience shaping onboarding, activation, personalization, or growth funnels at scale.

6. Exceptional communication skills—able to align executives, PMs, and engineers around a design direction.

7. Portfolio showcasing strategic influence, frameworks, and shipped work with measurable impact.

Who You Are

1. You operate at both altitude and depth—vision and execution.

2. You bring clarity to ambiguity and structure to chaos.

3. You’re comfortable owning cross-team alignment and influencing org-level decisions.

4. You raise the bar for design quality and design thinking.

What You’ll Gain

1. Ownership of vision, strategy, and system-level design for onboarding and cross-product experience.

2. A strategic role influencing product direction, quality standards, and multi-team alignment.

3. Opportunities to mentor designers and shape design culture across the organization.

4. High-impact visibility with leadership and cross-functional partners.

5. A supportive culture that encourages thoughtful communication, autonomy, and a sustainable work-life balance—even in a fast-moving environment.
