Senior Vessel Manager - VTAL

Our client is a Maritime Industry. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Vessel Manager to be part of their Lab Team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West - easily accessible

Key Responsibilities for Vessel Manager:

• Oversee the technical management and overall performance of 3–5 assigned bulk carriers, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and technical projects.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies, including ISM and ISO requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard teams, working closely with vessel crews to resolve operational and technical issues.
• Manage vessel operating budgets, technical procurement, and expenditure approvals while optimising cost efficiency.
• Monitor vessel performance, identify potential risks, and implement preventive measures to minimise incidents and operational disruptions.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions to enhance fleet safety and performance.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with shipowners, classification societies, vessel crews, and internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Sailing experience on bulk carriers or shore-based experience as a Vessel Manager managing bulk carriers of various sizes.
• Strong technical knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and fleet operations.
• Good understanding of international maritime regulations, safety management systems, and compliance requirements, including ISM and ISO standards.
• Proven ability to manage vessel budgets, technical procurement, and operational costs.
