Salary: RM 20,000 – RM 30,000 per month

We are seeking a highly analytical, proactive, and visionary SVP of Technology to lead our comprehensive technology organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive role requires a unique balance of strategic oversight and hands-on mentorship.

The SVP of Technology will operate a two-tiered leadership model: providing strategic oversight and governance to our established Tech, Product, and Infrastructure departments (led by strong VPs and Senior Managers), while directly spearheading and maturing our emerging Quality Assurance (QA), Information Security, and Data functions.

The ideal candidate possesses deep, up-to-date technical acumen, exceptional critical thinking skills, and advanced stakeholder management. We are looking for an assertive leader who does not manage from the sidelines—someone who proactively challenges their teams, leads decisively during technical incidents, and can translate complex technical realities into clear, actionable business strategies for Top Management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Executive Leadership & Capability Building

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide high-level direction, governance, and accountability to the established Engineering/Tech, Product, and Infrastructure departments.

  • Direct Spearheading & Mentorship: Actively lead, mature, and scale the QA, Information Security, and Data departments. Mentor their manager-level leads, elevating their strategic capabilities and operational excellence.

  • Critical Challenge & Accountability: Cultivate a culture of high performance. Actively challenge subordinates on architecture decisions, timelines, and risk assessments to ensure robust, sustainable outcomes.

  • Technical Roadmap: Develop, own, and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with Tranglo’s business objectives, ensuring system scalability, high availability, and innovation.

2. Incident & Crisis Leadership

  • Proactive Problem Solving: Act as the ultimate technical authority during system incidents or breaches. Lead the team from the front in firefighting efforts, driving rapid root-cause analysis.

  • Executive Communication: Take ownership of communicating technical issues to the C-suite. Rather than relying solely on subordinates to answer executive queries, proactively present the case, explain the technical bottlenecks, and recommend sustainable solutions to Top Management.

3. Governance, Risk & Information Security

  • Compliance Leadership: Oversee the Information Security function to ensure absolute compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements (e.g., BNM RMIT).

  • Risk Escalation: Demonstrate flawless judgment in identifying material technical or security risks. Ensure these risks are documented, mitigated, and transparently escalated to Top Management without delay.

  • Data Strategy & Privacy: Guide the Data department in establishing robust data governance, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and optimal utilization across the business.

4. Advanced Stakeholder Management

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Work seamlessly across the organization to align Product roadmaps with Engineering capacity and Infrastructure readiness.

  • Executive Translation: Bridge the gap between deeply technical teams and the business. Present complex technical architecture, budget requirements, and security postures in clear, commercial terms to the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors.

  • Vendor & Partner Management: Oversee critical system integrations and manage high-level relationships with external technology partners, auditors, and service providers.

5. Architectural & Quality Excellence

  • Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy: Oversee the Infrastructure leadership in maintaining high-availability servers, robust network security (firewalls, zero-trust architecture), and optimized database performance.

  • Quality Assurance: Drive the QA department to implement advanced automation testing frameworks, stress testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to guarantee software reliability.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive technology experience in a fast-paced, regulated industry (Fintech, Banking, or Payments highly preferred), with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing multiple technical departments.

  • Technical Acumen: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, RMIT), and data governance.

  • Critical Thinking & Assertiveness: Proven ability to ask the hard questions, dissect complex technical problems, and hold senior technical leaders accountable for their deliverables.

  • Crisis Management: Demonstrated experience leading technical teams through major incidents, outages, or audits with calm, authoritative, and solutions-oriented leadership.

  • Advanced Stakeholder Management: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Must have a track record of successfully managing upwards to C-level executives and the Board, while effectively leading downwards.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
