Senior Video Editor
Panda Drum Senior Video Editor
Panda Drum is the world's #1 DTC seller of steel tongue drums. 200,000+ customers annually. 3x YoY growth. Remote team of 40.
We're building a performance creative engine to match that growth — and we need a senior video editor who treats editing as an output discipline rather than a craft project.
What you'll own
Your baseline: 6 approved videos per week, assigned Monday and approved by Friday. "Delivered" means approved, so you own the full revision cycle and QC, not just the upload. Short and long-form performance ads (40 seconds up to 2 to 3 minute VSLs, with ~90 seconds the sweet spot), built for retention, hook velocity, and conversion, not aesthetics. The craft here is attention engineering: open-loop hooks, a reason to keep watching every few seconds, and the two things most editors miss on this product, real emotion on the player's face and clean, synced sound. You work in tight feedback loops, notes back within hours and a queue that keeps you from sitting idle. Revisions are technical adjustments, not negotiations. You ship reliably, week over week.
What you'll work with
A 40,000+ clip content library, AI-tagged and searchable.
A topped-up AI stack (Seedance, ElevenLabs, HeyGen) for hooks, voiceover, avatars, and missing B-roll.
A sound engineer, a creative-strategy team, and breakdowns of our top ~100 performing ads and hooks, so you never edit blind.
Your editing software of choice. We care about output, not the toolbar.
How your income scales with your output
Competitive base (set to experience) plus 13th-month salary.
Uncapped performance bonus: % of the ad spend on every ad you make, paid monthly and tracked to your ad on a live dashboard, so you see your spend and bonus in real time. The percentage climbs as you rank up.
What earning autonomy looks like
Hit the baseline consistently, hold quality, and show judgment on what converts, and you earn the right to pitch original concepts, get a production budget, and own creative directions end to end, including running your own shoots. Top performers move from editor to senior editor, owning a pod of 2 to 3 editors, then keep climbing, with copywriting AI and performance-marketing coaching from the founder along the way. That autonomy is a reward for operational excellence, not a starting point. You capture the growth; no one hands it to you.
This role suits you if
You default to execution and take feedback as data. You care about output, not optics. You're proactive, solving problems before escalating, and "it wasn't my job" isn't in your vocabulary. You're calm under pressure and consistent week over week. One honest note: this product is genuinely hard to edit well, which is exactly why the seat is paid and structured the way it is, and why about 1 in 7 editors makes it through the paid trial. The bar is high, and so is the support.
