Senior Wordpress Developer
Summary
Senior WordPress Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable WordPress applications, custom plugins, and REST API integrations. The role involves working with PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript to deliver secure, optimized web solutions and enterprise-level integrations.
This is a remote position.
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins following industry best practices.
- Design and implement custom WordPress plugins and extend existing platform functionalities.
- Build, integrate, and maintain REST APIs, third-party applications, and external business systems.
- Develop and manage integrations with payment gateways, CRM platforms, marketing tools, and other enterprise applications.
- Customize and optimize WordPress themes to ensure responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing experiences.
- Optimize website performance, scalability, security, and overall reliability.
- Collaborate with UI/UX Designers, Product Managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex website, plugin, and integration-related issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture, technical design, and development best practices.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, version control processes, and deployment procedures.
- Monitor and improve website performance through caching, database optimization, and performance tuning techniques.
- Support deployment activities, production releases, and post-production maintenance.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in WordPress development.
- Strong expertise in PHP, WordPress, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Hands-on experience with REST API development and integration.
- Proven experience with third-party integrations, including payment gateways, CRM platforms, marketing tools, and external services.
- Strong experience in developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress plugins.
- Experience with custom theme development and WordPress theme architecture.
- Knowledge of Git, version control best practices, and deployment processes.
- Understanding of website security, performance optimization, caching mechanisms, and scalability considerations.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Coveo Search Integration.
- Exposure to WooCommerce and custom eCommerce solutions.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud environments.
- Experience working with headless WordPress implementations and API-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
- Development and maintenance of high-quality WordPress websites and applications.
- Custom plugin development and enhancement of existing functionalities.
