Serjeant-at-Arms(Part-time)

Salary: $19 per hour

Location: City Hall

Contract: 6 months

Workdays: Monday – Friday (only upon activation)

Workhours: Between 8.00am – 9.00pm

• Ensure the safekeeping and proper handling of the Mace when in physical possession
• Perform the ceremonial drill, marching and foot drill for the carrying of the Mace
• Remain vigilant in the Chamber throughout the sitting to wait on the Speaker's orders, and ready to act under Speaker’s authority to remove any offensive person from the premises in event of a disturbance in the Chamber or in the Public Galleries;
• Assist to co-ordinate and manage ushers

Requirements:

• Singaporean
• Minimally 5 years of working experience in SAF, SPF or SCDF, preferably having attained at least equivalent rank of First Sergeant (SAF)
• Perform ceremonial drills and persevere through long hours of duty
• Possess relevant skills such as assertiveness, attention to detail, courage, and empathy to carry out duties with decorum and tact
• Familiarity with emergency, security and fire safety management would be advantageous
• Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to engage officers at all levels
• Team player with the ability to work independently
