Position Summary:

The Server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by taking orders, delivering food and drinks, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience. This role requires a high level of communication, multitasking, and attention to detail to meet the needs of guests while maintaining the quality and efficiency of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression.

• Present menus and offer recommendations to guests based on their preferences or dietary needs.

• Take food and drink orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff in a timely manner.

• Ensure that food and beverages are served to guests in accordance with restaurant standards.

• Provide information on menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including dining tables, utensils, and service areas.

• Monitor guest satisfaction and address any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.

• Prepare checks, process payments, and provide change to guests in a courteous and accurate manner.

• Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient service during peak periods.

• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation standards.

• Upsell menu items, specials, and beverages to increase sales and enhance the guest experience.

• Maintain knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, including seasonal or limited-time offerings.

• Assist with cleaning duties, including resetting tables and restocking service areas.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer-facing or food service role is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage items, as well as dietary restrictions or allergies (preferred but not required).

• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure during busy shifts.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

• TIPS or other alcohol service certifications may be required based on local laws.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment. Servers will be exposed to noise, varying temperatures, and food-related hazards. The role may require standing and walking for extended periods, as well as carrying trays or dishes of food.

Physical Essential Functions:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to serve food and drinks.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Repeated use of hands and arms to carry trays, deliver food, and assist with cleaning tasks.

• Tolerance of a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
